I am currently a research scholar in the department of electrical and computer engineering, National University of Singapore. My research interests are on information theory, signal processing, wireless communication system, wireless network, wireless sensor network, optimization, operation research and cognitive radio network. Currently, I am concentrating on wireless cognitive radio ad hoc network(CRAHN).

I believe there is still much more work to be done to come out with a practical solution for CRAHNs. I am looking forward to see a day, we are using our hand phone without subscribing to any operator and we might not need to pay for connection unless we are demanding specific services. In that day, hand phones(hp) becomes an intelligent agnet which is capable to manuplate it's own parameter and protocols. They might cooperate with the network in different ways such as forwarding other users' data packets or gathering sensing information and might earn money for offering those cooperative services to the network. Such an ideal hp will be capable of adapting different parameters such as coding, modulation, frequency or even utilizing differenet physical technology such as multiple antenna, beam forming and etc. to operate on the optimum point in terms of costs, energy or any other target. Moreover, this hp would be a reconfigurable embedded system and cab be compatible to different communication protocols over various networks and even can learn those protocols never faced before. I think this day is very near and hand phones will be able to do even more in next 5 years.
